The O’Brien mix strips the music down to the very basics, removing all the reverb and distortion and you are left with a very clean mix that sounds like what it would actually sound like live or in the studio. It sucks that most people won’t listen to it and only know the original which had shitty production that took away from the great music Pearl Jam created.įor those of you who haven’t listened basically the difference between the two versions is that the original has tons of reverb and distortion which makes the music sound sloppy and messy, which could be part of the appeal but doesn’t allow you to really appreciate the music as a whole. It gave me a whole new appreciation for Ten.
